"And finally Winter, with its bitin', whinin' wind, and all the

land will be mantled with snow."

~Roy Bean

Football Sunday Means Pizza!!

Share It:

Can I tell you something? I'm not a die-hard football fan...so let's just get that out of the way right now:) I've never been to a professional game and I don't own a jersey of any kind.(I did however get a certain burgundy and gold blanket for Xmas this year;) But from September to January, football is on the mind of most Americans so I do turn it on most Sunday's and have it on as background noise. Plus, that Michael Strahan is a cutie;) When it does come time to root for a team, I will say that the Redskins are my jam. Maybe it's my DNA. Maybe I'm a sucker for the underdog. Maybe I like the team colors....I dunno. So, on this relatively warm Virginia Sunday, I'm gonna be rooting for the Skins this afternoon and hoping for the best outcome!

As for what to eat with a good football game....pizza always comes to mind for me. This recipe is an alternate take on the round pies we usually order from Papa Johns and the like.... It's a pull-apart pizza ring and it's....fabulous! So fabulous, I even saw a version floating around FB last week! Easy, peasy to make and fun for everyone. Enjoy and find the recipe at the bottom:)

Pull-Apart, Pizza Bread

Recipe:

2 cans pizza dough (or you can be awesome and make your own pizza dough, enough for two medium pies)
2.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
1 cup parmesan cheese shredded
1/2 cup avocado oil (Or Olive Oil, you're choice!)
2 tablespoons italian seasoning (I love Trader Joes 21 Salute seasoning)
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 small bag mini pepperonis (Feel free to add any other fillings you want)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Cut your pizza dough into strips then into 1 inch squares. Mix together with the dough your olive oil, cheeses, spices and pepperonis. Once mixed together, transfer to a greased bundt pan and bake for 30 minutes. After cooling a few minutes, flip the pan and transfer to a plate. Serve with a side of dipping sauces and ENJOY!!!

A Song, A Book, A Quote, A Look

Share It:

Going to try something new in 2016.....some regular series posts. I saw this over on one of my favorite blogs Dear Friend and thought I'd play along every month:)

:: Song ::   When We Were Young
:: Book ::   The Light Between Oceans
:: Quote :: Be weird. Be Silly. Be Kind.
:: Look ::    I'm loving the color gray this winter. As seen here.

What is it about Adele? Everything she sings is just so fierce. Some may not like her; and that's perfectly fine. But you cannot deny that voice. I'm a huge fan:)

This book. Oh my. Sooooo good. I heard about it last year when my father (who is NOT a voracious reader) sang it's praises. I've finally gotten around to reading it and I'm loving it. So eloquent and descriptive. I cannot wait to see how it ends and for the movie to come out this year!

It's true. None of us are getting out of here alive. And this quote perfectly describes what a good life should be! Like it says, eat the delicious food and jump in the ocean. I know I will!!!

Gray. I'm all about gray right now. My new favorite sweater is gray. When I move this fall, I dream of painting my walls gray. A cold, foggy, gray morning is sometimes more beautiful than a bright, sunshine filled one. It's a good color and it's taken me years to appreciate it :)

Thanks for stopping by today and if you want to join the fun, let me know in the comments and I'll come visit you too!

Stay Blessed,
Jenn

2015 was a good year, all in all. It had many highs and many lows....but overall pretty decent! I left a job that I was miserable at and entered a whole new career path that has me challenged on a daily basis. And I love it!! This year saw the entrance of my parents lovely new pup Maggie and the unfortunate passing of my sister's dog Murray (more on that in a future post). Again....highs and lows. But I think it's those highs and lows that make life worth living. If everything was fabulous and zen everyday wouldn't it be SO boring? I dunno about you, but I need there to be moments that make me crazy happy and then extremely sad or stressed. It's called living life. I wouldn't have it any other way:)

Now, I'm not one to create resolutions lately. Nine times out of ten...they go to the wayside and then I just feel bad about myself. But I do like to make goals, something to strive for that isn't set in stone. To me, they're much more attainable! And I do have goals for 2016....lots of big, fat, juicy, audacious goals:) Here they are.....

  • Re-open my Etsy shop on or before my next birthday in March
  • Get a tattoo on said birthday in March
  • Try running again. I did it yearsssss ago and I'd like to attempt it again
  • Go to the beach more this coming summer
  • Move into a new, larger home
  • Have fresh flowers in my home, weekly
  • Fall in love again
  • Take the train....somewhere
  • Daytrip to the OBX
  • Take a creative class of some sort
  • Read all the books in my kindle
  • Eat more chocolate..... ;)
  • Make homemade ice cream
  • Get caught in the rain
  • Explore my city more
  • See a broadway play....in NYC
  • Have next years Xmas shopping done by September
  • Be content..... <3
So, yeah! We'll see what happens with that list above:) I hope that your upcoming year is full of beautiful moments. Joyous days and sparkling nights. But also moments that cause you pause and remind you we are human and that not every moment is perfect....that life is perfect in the imperfect:)

Stay Blessed,
Jenn
